Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to develop end-to-end UI automation covering critical workflows across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit. Build resilient Playwright-based tests, reusable fixtures, and API test automation to validate service layers.

You will implement network interception, manage authentication states, and ensure robust test design within an Agile team for a 10-month engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on test automation experience, including 2+ years with Playwright building and maintaining production automation frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience architecting automation frameworks from scratch — not just writing scripts in an existing one.
• Solid understanding of Playwright core concepts: locators, auto-waiting, fixtures, projects, parallelism, retries, tracing, and configuration.
• Proficiency with API testing — REST, JSON payloads, status code and schema validation (Playwright request, Postman, or REST Assured).
• Hands-on CI/CD integration experience with at least one of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Strong Git skills — branching, pull requests, merge conflict resolution, code review participation.
• Working SQL knowledge for test data setup and backend validation.
• Solid grasp of QA fundamentals: test design techniques, boundary and equivalence analysis, risk-based testing, defect lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with sprint-based delivery.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills; ability to investigate failures across UI, API, and data layers.
• Clear written and verbal communication — able to explain quality risk to non-technical stakeholders.
