Role: QA Automation Engineer
Location: Austin TX (5 days onsite in week)
Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the highest quality of our software products. You will leverage your strong foundation in QA methodologies alongside core testing frameworks to validate UI, API, and performance requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in Selenium with Java, API testing using Karate, and performance testing using JMeter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply solid QA fundamentals to analyze requirements, create comprehensive test plans, and design detailed test cases.
  • Build, maintain, and execute robust functional UI automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
  • Design and execute API automation scripts using the Karate Framework to validate RESTful web services.
  • Configure and manage automated test suites within a build pipeline using Maven.
  • Utilize Git for version control, handling branches, code reviews, and pulling/pushing code updates within a collaborative environment.
  • Conduct performance, load, and stress testing on applications using Apache JMeter to identify system bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify, document, and track software defects to resolution.
  • Analyze test results, provide regular status reports, and continuously optimize the testing lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of QA software testing fundamentals, including SDLC, STLC, test case design, bug tracking, and defect life cycle management.
  • Proven experience in automation testing using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
  • Hands-on experience building and executing API test scripts using the Karate Framework.
  • Proficiency with Maven for dependency management and build automation.
  • Strong familiarity with Git workflow basics, such as branching, merging, and pull requests.
  • Practical experience designing and executing load and performance test scripts in Apache JMeter.
  • Solid understanding of Java programming concepts, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating automated test suites into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is [$80,000 to $100,000]. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity
