Job summary

Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services in Baton Rouge seeks an IT QA Analyst to lead and report on quality assurance testing of highly complex application software throughout the software development lifecycle.

The role interfaces with agency and business/technical analysts to validate test data and cases, mentors junior staff, and produces defect reports while documenting testing processes. Strong IT/PM/BA background required.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in information technology, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years in IT, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• Associate's degree in information technology plus three years of experience in IT, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in IT, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in IT, CS, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics plus two years in IT, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• Master’s degree plus two years in IT, project management, business analysis or administrative services.
• EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: 30 semester hours earned = 1 year experience; max substitution 120 semester hours (4 years).
• Certification in an approved area may be substituted for education/experience at hire or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform quality assurance testing of highly complex application software using varied test methodologies (usability, functionality, exploratory, regression, system, smoke, monkey, compatibility).
• Collaborate with agency and business/technical analysts to identify, develop, and validate test data and test cases to ensure functionality meets benchmarks and expectations.
• Mentor and train lower-level Quality Assurance Analysts and Project Analysts.
• Create and deliver reports about defects found during QA testing of highly complex applications.
• Document testing practices and procedures in business/technical documents.
• Perform other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.
