Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Software Engineer, Test Automation to join a technology team on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on building automated testing solutions for data platforms, ETL processes, and enterprise applications using Python, PyTest, PostgreSQL, SQL, and CI/CD tools.

You will work with engineering and business stakeholders to design scalable testing strategies, enhance automation frameworks, and support critical releases.

Qualifications

3+ years in Test Automation, SDET, QA Automation, or Software Engineering.
Strong Python development experience.
Hands-on experience with PyTest or similar Python testing frameworks.
Experience testing ETL processes, data pipelines, or backend systems.
Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL.
Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
Experience with Git or other version control systems.
Understanding of CI/CD pipeline testing and release processes.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

Design and implement automated tests for data platforms and ETL pipelines.
Develop Python-based test automation frameworks using PyTest.
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to validate data quality.
