Alignerr is seeking a senior full-stack Python engineer to design and build data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems that support AI model training and refinement. This fully remote, hourly contract role offers 20–40 hours per week and the chance to shape production-grade infrastructure used by leading AI labs.

You will work on high-impact backend systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to production-ready tooling that scales with modern AI workloads.

About The Role

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Python systems supporting AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing Python codebases
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior, then implement scalable fixes
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions

Who You Are

• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python
• Strong full-stack developer with a solid systems programming background
• You write clean, maintainable code — linters, formatters, and testing frameworks are second nature
• Experienced in integrating AI services and APIs, handling edge cases, and building robust error reporting
• A clear communicator — both in writing and in synchronous discussions
• Native or fluent English speaker
• Available to commit 20–40 hours per week

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking pipelines
• Experience with distributed systems or developer tooling
