Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC is seeking a Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a hybrid, 12-month contract. The role focuses on building scalable back-end systems with Python and Node.js, RESTful APIs, and microservices, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will design, implement, and optimize server-side applications, APIs, and data layer, while mentoring others and contributing to continuous improvement. The client is a leading financial services institution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with Python and Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side apps.
• Relational DBs and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and DevOps familiarity.
• Git and version control workflows; Agile/Scrum experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable back-end solutions using Python and Node.js.
• Integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services into the system.
• Write clean, maintainable code with testing and deployment in mind.
• Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and stakeholders for seamless integration.
• Mentor junior developers and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop unit and integration tests; maintain comprehensive documentation.
