Job summary

NTT DATA North America is seeking a Python Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in a hybrid/onsite environment in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on Python, RESTful API design, and integration with databases across the software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in Agile ceremonies, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while delivering secure, high-performance software solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing applications with Python.
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• 2+ years of experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborative software development.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms.
• Experience with one or more Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, and building production-quality software.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, APIs, and automation solutions using Python.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure application reliability and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Support application deployments, production releases, and ongoing system enhancements.
• Monitor application performance, resolve production issues, and implement continuous improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to coding, security, and development standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
