Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC is seeking a Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a hybrid, 12-month contract. The role focuses on building scalable back-end systems with Python and Node.js, RESTful APIs, and microservices, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will design, implement, and optimize server-side applications, APIs, and data layer, while mentoring others and contributing to continuous improvement. The client is a leading financial services institution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with Python and Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side apps.
• Relational DBs and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and DevOps familiarity.
• Git and version control workflows; Agile/Scrum experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• Proficiency: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on Python and Node.js.
• Language Expertise: 5+ years of strong proficiency in Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js, with a solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Back-End Expertise: Experience in building RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side applications.

• Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.
• Design & Development: Architect, design, and develop scalable and efficient back-end solutions using Python and Node.js.
• System Integration: Integrate various APIs, databases, and third-party services into the existing system architecture.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while following best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior developers and team members.
