Job summary

TEKsystems in Chicago, IL is seeking a Software Engineer to support a critical Regulatory Transaction Reporting Platform. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions across multiple jurisdictions, focusing on high-quality production code and robust testing.

Ideal candidates have a BS in CS or related field, 3+ years of software development, and strong OOP with Python. You'll work in a hybrid environment with senior engineers and stakeholders, contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 1+ years of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) experience.
  • Strong understanding of source control tools such as Git or SVN.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Global Technology & Operations organization is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development and enhancement of a critical Transaction Reporting Regulatory Platform. This application supports multiple global regulatory jurisdictions and asset classes, including OTC Derivatives and Foreign Exchange (FX) products.

This is an opportunity to work on highly visible regulatory technology initiatives that directly support the firm's global trading and reporting obligations. Experience with CFTC, EMIR, or MiFID II transaction reporting is a strong plus but not required.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions for regulatory reporting applications

Translate business and technical requirements into high-quality, production-ready code

Build reusable, efficient, and testable applications using modern software engineering practices

Collaborate closely with senior engineers, technical leads, and business stakeholders

Create technical documentation including system designs, architecture diagrams, and development specifications

Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing to ensure successful deployments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
