Job summary

SaidGig is seeking a backend engineer to advance AI-powered software development. You will design and optimize REST and GraphQL endpoints, enforce data validation and security, and drive efficient database migrations.

Remote contract engagement with hourly compensation and strong collaboration with the research team. Experience with Cursor and AI coding tools is highly valued.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of backend development with strong Python expertise.
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Backend validation, error handling, and API security.
• DB migrations, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience using AI coding tools.
• Familiarity with Cursor is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear incident reporting.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, confidential remote environments.

• Design, build, and optimize scalable REST and GraphQL API endpoints.
• Implement strong data validation, error handling, and security practices across backend services.
• Plan and perform database migrations, performance optimizations, and schema updates.
• Test AI-powered models in Cursor and document findings with incident reports, bug traces, and screenshots.
• Take part in intensive four-day testing bursts that examine the effect of AI models on real coding workflows.
• Discuss findings and proposed improvements with the research team through a dedicated Slack channel.
• Complete detailed post-testing surveys on model performance and developer experience.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional backend development experience with strong Python expertise.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Advanced knowledge of backend validation, error handling, and API security.
• Hands‑on experience with database migrations, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience using AI coding tools.
• Familiarity with Cursor is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear incident and bug reporting.

Work Terms
