Job summary

Akuna Capital is seeking a Software Engineer - Business Operations in Chicago to lead cost attribution projects and build data integrations across Jira, NetSuite, Device42, and Bitbucket. You will support Finance, HR, and Procurement with pipelines and automated reports, and explore AI-enabled improvements across internal tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs across systems.
• Experience integrating Jira, NetSuite, Bitbucket, Device42 or equivalents.
• Hands-on with LLM/AI APIs and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A cost attribution project and design a granular bitemporal DB.
• Build data integrations from Jira, NetSuite, Device42, Bitbucket for cost logic.
• Support Q1 2027 deployment and provide documentation for handoff.
• Lead engineering in support of Business Operations teams.
• Rebuild quote order management systems with Procurement.
• Build data pipelines, automated reports, and system integrations.
• Act as a general-purpose development resource across Finance, HR, and Procurement.
• Identify AI opportunities and integrate AI features across tools.
• Ensure security practices when integrating AI tooling.
