Pouring With Heart is seeking a hospitable Security Host to work the door at our venues in Los Angeles, CA. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff, serving as the first and last impression of the bar, while balancing professionalism with hospitality.

Duties include greeting guests, verifying IDs, monitoring safety, supporting staff, de-escalating conflicts, and ensuring policy compliance. A 21+ status and applicable state certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in security, guest services, or hospitality.
• Strong situational awareness and professionalism under pressure.
• 21+ years old and valid security guard certifications if required (varies by state).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and set a safe, welcoming tone.
• Verify IDs and manage entry per venue policies.
• Monitor floor and bar areas for safety, escalate issues as needed.
• Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully.
• Assist with crowd flow, line management, and capacity during peak hours.
• Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership promptly.
• Follow health, safety, and compliance standards, including responsible alcohol service.

Pouring with Heart is currently looking for a professional, and hospitable, Security Host to work the door at one of our venues in Los Angeles, CA.

PWH is a bustling, tight-knit, bar group on a mission to Raise The Human Spirit and build community wherever we serve and we're excited to find a new member of our community to help keep our crews and guests safe.

The role…

As a Security Host, you are responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. You represent the first and last impression of the bar, balancing professionalism and hospitality with the awareness and confidence needed to maintain order.

Duties include, but are not limited to…

• Greet guests warmly and set the tone for a safe, welcoming environment
• Verify IDs accurately and manage guest entry in line with venue policies
• Monitor the floor and bar areas for safety concerns, escalating issues when necessary
• Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully
• Assist with crowd flow, line management, and capacity control during peak hours
• Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership promptly
• Follow all health, safety, and compliance standards, including responsible alcohol service and emergency procedures

Required Skills/Qualifications

• 3+ years prior security, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong situational awareness, confidence, and professionalism under pressure
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts with patience, respect, and clear communication
• Must be 21+ and have valid security guard certifications if required (varies by state)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to lift and move 100+ pounds
• Fast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficiently
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operations

The Pay

• $27 to $30 an hour ($20 to $25 an hour base pay + tips)
