BASIC FUNCTION: Maintains and operates various types of heavy motorized equipment used in the maintenance, construction, and repair of the city's infrastructure and facilities. Undertakes a variety of maintenance activities for public works and/or maintenance.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives general supervision from the Supervisor, Commissioner, and Water Superintendent. Provides technical guidance to crew workers assigned to positions of grade 10 and lower.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Equipment Operations Experience.
DEFINITION of HEAVY EQUIPMENT: Equipment classified as heavy based on weight/capacity and work performed, including crawler, tractor, road grader, dump trailer, front-end loader (3 cu or larger), and excavator.
Environmental Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions, exposure to vibrations, noise, slippery surfaces, electrical energy, heavy machinery, vehicle traffic, dust, fumes, and possible toxic chemicals. May require irregular hours for inclement weather and other circumstances.
Physical Conditions: Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods, lift up to 100 pounds, pull, reach, bend, climb, kneel, and operate vehicles and tools. Must distinguish colors.
Hours of Work: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Salary: Union PW-10, $1,177.74 - $1,261.25 weekly.
