Job summary

Atkore is hiring a PVC Manufacturing Material Handler for the night shift (8:00pm–8:00am) in Louisville, KY. The role pays $18.50 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential, with overtime and incentives possible.

You will support extrusion operations, quality checks, and material handling in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), strong math and counting skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift up to 50

Responsibilities

• Confirm the product running on each extrusion line with the production schedule.
• Assist with quality control duties including saw cuts, pipe length, bell fit, print line confirmation, chamfer/bevel, and reference line spacing.
• Weigh and transport finished product via forklift (Atkore certification provided).
• Cut crate boards to proper lengths and adjust as needed.
• Assist with start-up and changeover of PVC extrusion lines.
• Understand how to get pipe into specification and identify out-of-spec products.
• Maintain and clean production and storage areas; operate material handling devices safely.

What you’ll bring:

• Confirm the product running on each Extrusion line with the Production schedule.
• Assist with Quality Control duties including, but not limited to: Monitor saw cuts, Pipe length, Bell fit, Print line confirmation, Chamfer/Bevel, and Reference line spacing.

• Perform maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas.
• Proficient with all material handling and packaging devices
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent preferred.
• Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Complete any required training related to the material handler position.
• Have developed relationships with the shift supervisor, operators, and other material handlers within the Extrusion department.
• Understand lean daily management practices and the importance of your role to daily operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $18.50 + $1.00/hr. Shift Differential. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
