Job summary

Atkore Plastic Pipe Corporation in Louisville, KY is seeking a Machine Operator I for the day shift (8:00 am – 8:00 pm). You will run PVC extrusion lines, monitor equipment, and ensure products meet specifications while maintaining safe, efficient production.

Ideal candidates have strong basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to read micrometers and tape measures. Training will cover Atkore’s extrusion changeover procedures and quality control documentation.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Extrusion experience or the ability to quickly learn Atkore’s PVC extrusion operation and change over procedures.
• Able to read micrometer and O.D. tape.
• Able to change print lines.

Responsibilities

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Repair red tag products.
• Confirm product with schedule.
• Complete operator paperwork (Operator sheets, regrind log, forklift check sheet).
• Cut crate boards to proper lengths.
• Process regrind.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $ 23/hour . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
