Qualifications

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida; additional state licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • PV2 prescription verification to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations including DEA and FDA guidelines and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure medication safety and accuracy before fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, PV1 pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations during the shift.
  • Monitor and maintain productivity metrics to align with pharmacy goals and efficiency benchmarks.
  • Assist in troubleshooting prescription processing, verification systems, or workflow interruptions during the midnight shift.
  • Provide end-of-shift updates to the incoming team for seamless continuity.

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant verification of prescriptions processed during the shift. This position focuses on the second stage of prescription verification (PV2), providing a final review before fulfillment and shipment to patients. The PV2 Pharmacist must work efficiently in a high-volume production environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.

This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to operational excellence to support the pharmacy's 24/7 fulfillment model. This position offers the flexibility to transition into a senior management roles based on the employee's performance and capabilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prescription Verification: perform PV2 verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal requirements
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines, while maintaining accurate records

  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy technicians, PV1 pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations during the shift

Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required
  • Licensure: Must hold an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida. Additional state licenses are a plus
  • Experience: new grads are welcome to apply

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced mail order pharmacy setting. It requires long periods of standing, working at computer stations, and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. The shift operates in a controlled environment designed to optimize productivity while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Cognitive and Physical Demands
  • Cognitive: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to focus during extended shifts.
  • Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods. May require manual handling of medications and equipment as needed.
Schedule
  • Rotating shifts between 4:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Rotating weekends
  • Rotating locations between Miami Gardens and Davie as needed

Overnight shift may be offered based on candidate's availability and business needs.

This schedule requires flexibility to accommodate pharmacy operations and meet patient demands.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, from Monday to Sunday, 100% On Site
