Progress Pharmacy in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Manager (PIC) to lead independent community pharmacy operations, ensure optimal medication therapy, and deliver personalized patient care. You will supervise pharmacists, technicians, and interns while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient workflow.

The ideal candidate has a PharmD/BPharm, Florida license, and 2+ years in community pharmacy. Immunization certification is preferred; active DEA/HIPAA knowledge is required.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Position Summary -In this role as Pharmacy Manager (PIC),you will play a crucial part in managing and providing pharmaceutical care in an independent community pharmacy setting, ensuring optimal medication therapy and delivering personalized patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a background in community pharmacy with a willingness to learn, a commitment to patient well-being, and excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with all phases of pharmacy services. Work with patients, providers, and clinics in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinate functions with other departments (Data Entry, Fulfillment, Compounding, Shipping, Billing)
  • Hold team members accountable including technicians to ensure metrics are met
  • Ensure all products are delivered to patients in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide counseling to patients regarding their medications to support appropriate and effective medication therapies
  • Review medication orders and evaluate for appropriateness and completeness
  • Educate Providers on new protocol development helping them understand and integrate advanced medical concepts into practice
  • Promote the safe and effective use of medications and supplements through formulary management and literature evaluation
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards
  • Ensure full compliance with state and federal laws (DEA, HIPAA, Board of Pharmacy)
  • Oversee dispensing accuracy, recordkeeping, and audits
  • Maintain pharmacy permit standards and safety protocols
  • Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and interns
  • Ensure staff licensure and training compliance
  • Delegate tasks consistent with Florida scope-of-practice rules
  • Provide:
    • Medication counseling
    • Immunizations (if applicable)
    • Medication therapy management
  • Collaborate with providers on patient care plans
  • Manage inventory, including:
    • Ordering, storage, and disposal
    • Controlled substances safeguards
  • Prevent diversion and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Perform all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach
Management Responsibilities -
  • Schedule Management - Create, maintain, and edit team schedules on a recurring basis to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity. Coordinate scheduling based on department needs and communicate schedule updates to team members in a timely manner.
  • Time Off & Attendance Management - Review and approve PTO and time off requests for direct team members in accordance with company policy. Serve as the primary point of contact for communicating and managing call outs, sick days, and attendance related matters within the team.
  • Training & Development - Oversee and conduct required training for team members. Ensure all training and competencies are completed, current, and properly documented.
  • Records Management - Maintain all necessary department records ensuring they are complete, accurate, and up to date including training and competency documentation. Meet regulatory standards on recordkeeping.
  • Performance Evaluations - Participate in the annual performance evaluation process for team members under their supervision. This includes completing evaluation documentation and may include attending evaluation meetings as required.
  • Team Communication - Serve as the primary point of communication between team members and management. Communicate all updates, changes, and relevant information within the department to all affected team members in a timely manner.
  • Department Reporting - Identify and report any departmental needs, concerns, or resource gaps to the direct supervisor on an ongoing basis.
  • Culture & Change Leadership - Team Leads are expected to model and champion company culture at all times. This includes embracing and positively reinforcing policy and procedure changes, serving as a resource and advocate for their team during transitions, and encouraging a cooperative and solutions-focused mindset. Team Leads set the tone — their attitude and approach toward change directly influences team morale and adoption.
  • Leadership & Support - Act as a resource and first point of contact for team members with questions, concerns, or day to day operational needs. Model professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company policies at all times.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency (PGY-1) and/or fellowship is preferred but not required
  • 2+ years community pharmacy related experience
  • Knowledge of HRT, functional medicine, cellular medicine preferred but not required
  • Immunization certification (preferred)
  • Non-Sterile or Sterile Compounding Experience preferred but not required
  • Independent pharmacy experience preferred but not required
  • Licensed active and in good standing with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy
Work Requirements
  • Position is based in the Company’s West Palm Beach, Florida office and requires regular onsite attendance due to the operational responsibilities of the role.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the West Palm Beach area or relocate prior to the start of employment.
  • Day shift availability preferred.
  • Must be available to work weekends and additional hours as needed based on operational requirements.

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays, as needed

Pay/ Compensation: $130,000.00 -$150,000.00 annual salary
