Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the Renewables Group. You will support commissioning across utility-scale PV and battery storage projects in North America, traveling to project sites and coordinating with engineers of record and subcontractors.

This technical role requires electrical engineering background, ability to read plans, and knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards. You will develop test procedures, manage documentation, and help ensure on-time project

Qualifications

Background in electrical engineering.
Willingness to travel domestically for extended periods.
Knowledge of PV and energy storage systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and single-line diagrams for PV, storage, and substations.
Familiarity with project lifecycle and contract structures for solar and storage projects.
Develop expertise in testing and commissioning of utility-scale PV, storage, and substations.
Develop understanding of standards around IEC/IEEE, PPC/SCADA, and related systems.

Responsibilities

Travel domestically up to 75% for extended periods.
Review and understand electrical testing procedures and commissioning schedules.
Lead discussions with developers and subcontractors; document meeting minutes.
Monitor testing and commissioning activities to align with project schedule.
Represent CEI during client discussions on testing and performance.
Develop SOWs and review proposals from a technical standpoint.
