Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a BESS Commissioning Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage, and substation projects across the United States. Based in Phoenix, AZ, you will coordinate testing and commissioning activities on site.

You will review electrical drawings and test procedures, support SCADA and power conversion systems, and work closely with utilities, engineers, OEMs, and subcontractors. Travel up to 100% across US project locations is required.

Qualifications

BA or BS degree required.
Electrical Engineering background.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively across the US.
PV, battery storage or electrical contracting experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across project sites.
Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and test procedures.
Support the commissioning of PV, BESS, substations, SCADA and power conversion systems.
Work closely with project teams, utilities, engineers, OEMs and subcontractors.
Monitor project schedules, documentation and regulatory compliance.
Investigate technical issues and support root cause analysis.
