Job summary

Withum is seeking a Pursuit Strategist in New Jersey to lead proposal development and RFP activities. You will collaborate with stakeholders to craft compelling responses, draft pursuit documents, and maintain content for future bids.

You will also ensure branding consistency and assist in CRM lead data management. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in proposal writing or marketing communications, familiarity with best practices, and strong writing and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
• 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, pursuit support, marketing communications or related professional services role.
• Familiarity with APMP, Shipley or other proposal development best practices is a plus.
• Experience in marketing, proposal writing or related field preferred.
• Experience with not-for-profit, education, healthcare, government, social services or mission-driven organizations is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word) including Copilot and collaboration tools.

As a Pursuit Strategist in one of our offices, you will coordinate proposal development and Request For Proposal (RFP) activities. As a member of the Pursuit Team, you'll work in collaboration with key stakeholders.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Researching and writing standard and customized proposals.


• Drafting pursuit documents.


• Creating and maintaining baseline content for use in future pursuit documents through proposal automation software


• Supporting and ensuring accuracy of lead gen information in CRM as it relates to the pursuit process and individual proposals.


• Providing strategic insight into win themes and brand consistency throughout the proposal process


• Working as a project manager of assigned proposals and coordinating and executing proposal content development from subject matter experts.


• Creating proposal presentations mirroring proposal win themes for opportunities that require additional buy-in from management.


• Maintaining compliance and adherence to proposal document deadlines and requirements.


• Adhering to Pursuit Team procedures and standards.


• Participation in ongoing continuous improvement of the pursuit process, content creation and best practices in the process/workflow.


• Ensuring quality and consistency of the Firm's branding in related proposal materials.


• Serving as a liaison between pursuit teams, Creative Services, Firm Admin, niche coordinators and other support functions for proposal document needs.


• Organizing complex information into tables, graphics, callouts and other reader-friendly formats, working with Creative Services as needed.


• Utilizing AI-assisted drafting while validating accuracy, protecting confidential information and maintaining the Firm's voice.


• Assisting with capturing lead details in CRM for pipeline management.

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.


• 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, pursuit support, marketing communications, business development or a related professional services role.


• Familiarity with APMP, Shipley or other proposal development best practices is a plus.


• Experience in marketing, proposal writing or a related field preferred.


• Experience with not-for-profit, education, healthcare, government, social services or other mission-driven organizations is highly preferred.


• Strong proficiency or familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Copilot and Cowork.


• Professional services firm background, proposal automation and content development tool familiarity (QorusDocs, Loopio, Responsive, Jasper, for example) and CRM experience preferred.


• Strategic thinker with excellent writing, organizational and analytic skills, and strong attention to detail.


• Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence with a demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner under deadlines in a dynamic work environment.


• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000-$75,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
