Qualifications

• Experience in food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when following resident diet requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pureed and texture-modified meals according to resident dietary requirements.
• Follow established recipes, menus, portion sizes, and food preparation guidelines.
• Ensure meals are prepared to the appropriate texture and consistency.
• Follow resident meal tickets and diet orders to help ensure accuracy.
• Prepare food in an appealing and appetizing manner.
• Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout preparation and meal service.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and kitchen safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Label, store, rotate, and handle food products.
• Assist with meal preparation and other dietary department responsibilities as needed.
• Work closely with cooks, dietary aides, nursing staff, and facility leadership.
• Ensure meals are prepared and ready for service in a timely manner.
