Job description

Purchasing Specialist – Construction & Facilities Projects

Randstad is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist (Construction / Purchaser) to support real estate, construction, and facilities projects for one of our global retail clients. This role manages the end-to-end procurement and contract administration process — sourcing materials, services, and vendors that keep large-scale property and construction projects running efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in full compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring:

A strong background in construction procurement and purchasing, with hands‑on experience sourcing and buying for construction and facilities projects. Skilled in contract administration, including drafting, negotiating, and managing change orders. Demonstrated expertise in vendor and supplier management, driving performance and cost optimization. Brings solid commercial acumen, negotiation, and project management skills supporting capital projects from start to finish. Experienced in compliance, cross‑functional collaboration, and reporting and analysis using Excel and procurement tools. Recognized for a continuous‑improvement mindset, consistently streamlining processes and challenging the status quo.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full procurement lifecycle — from sourcing and bidding to contract negotiation and award.
  • Support contract administration, including change orders, legal compliance, and documentation.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Construction, Engineering, Finance, and Legal to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Drive cost optimization through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and performance management.
  • Maintain compliance with procurement standards, processes, and ethical guidelines.
  • Prepare spend and cost‑savings reports and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Build and sustain strong vendor relationships while aligning with project timelines and budgets.

What You Bring

  • 5–7 years of procurement or contract‑administration experience in construction, real estate, or facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracting practices, supplier networks, and cost structures.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, manage, and administer contracts, including change orders and dispute resolution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and procurement/project‑management platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 25 % as needed.
