Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing and materials planning across key value streams in a manufacturing setting. This contract, on-site role operates a standard daytime 5x8 shift to keep production running smoothly.

You will place orders, monitor needs, and collaborate with planning, production, and procurement to ensure timely deliveries and accurate dates. Strong Excel/Outlook skills and detail orientation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a manufacturing business role; supply chain experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with purchase orders, dates, schedules and material requirements.
• Effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to support multiple priorities across value streams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to confirm status and delivery commitments.
• Monitor material needs, delivery timing, and potential supply constraints to protect production schedules.
• Ensure internal customer dates are accurately populated and maintained to support planning activities.
• Coordinate with planning, production, materials, and procurement teams to resolve purchasing or scheduling issues.
• Escalate shortages, late deliveries, or planning concerns as they arise.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and planning information in business systems.
• Provide general administrative and transactional support related to purchasing and materials planning.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

Pay Range

$24.00 - $30.00/hour
