Job summary

Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) in Georgia seeks a Purchasing Leader to drive sourcing, supplier selection and order placement for development through mass production. You will manage changes, negotiate contracts and establish KPIs for the procurement organization.

You will ensure compliance with HTGP policies, safety standards and USMCA regulations while coordinating with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ purchasing experience (Automotive industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of Purchasing guidelines and programs.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Custom regulations and recommendations.
  • Experience with Purchasing systems.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little direction.
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Looking for candidates that will be responsible for leading the Purchasing activities for sourcing, supplier selection and order placement. USMCA management.

Essential Functions
Corporate
  • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) and procedures

  • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF16949), Environmental ISO 14001/ VDA6.3 and Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 policies and procedures

  • Manages the department budget efficiently as per the approved annual budget
  • Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management
EHS

Technical

Perform key duties in a plant including EO/4M Changes Management, Parts Development, Suppliers’ Quality Issue,

New Project Development process management and any other issues regarding Supply Chain Issues

Responsibility includes managing all the above for Development through Mass Production Stage

Source and procure materials that meet specifications and schedules in the most cost-effective manner,

considering price, schedule and delivery as well as past supplier performance and quality.

Check Cost information for parts change (Investment Cost, Increase/Decrease of unit price, etc.) if necessary

Collect and evaluate countermeasures regarding suppliers’ parts quality issue if necessary

Establish KPI and manage Purchasing/Procurement organization

A comprehensive understanding of USMCA and the overall tariff framework is required.

Negotiate terms and conditions including material price with suppliers for New Projects

Bidding and supplier nomination, Signing of purchasing contract

Analyze parts quality issue, productivity improvement, part supply issue, cost reduction, parts localization and customers’ request etc

Analysis forecast and figure out potential risk of Suppliers’ part shortage issue in advance

Communicate with all group leaders and team members concerning new projects

Education
  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Bachelor Degree or comparable background of work related experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Economics or Finance
