Job Title: Purchasing Specialist

Location: New York, NY (Flatiron HQ) – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and driven Purchasing Specialist to support our procurement operations and product flow across multiple categories. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of materials, accurate inventory planning, and smooth coordination across our international supplier base.

The ideal candidate combines analytical acumen, strong communication skills, and supply chain awareness to support both tactical and strategic purchasing efforts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Inventory & Supply Planning
  • Support demand forecasting and maintain accurate purchase orders to ensure optimal inventory flow across assigned product lines.
  • Monitor inventory levels, adjust for seasonality and sales trends, and execute daily procurement transactions with precision.
  • Confirm product specifications, lead times, and shipping details to guarantee accurate and timely deliveries.
Vendor Coordination & Order Management
  • Collaborate with global suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely production and shipment of goods.
  • Track and manage purchase orders throughout the lifecycle, resolving delays or discrepancies proactively.
  • Assist in executing vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and onboarding new suppliers as needed.
Procurement Operations
  • Track supplier KPIs such as accuracy, service quality, and on‑time performance.
  • Support the identification and evaluation of new sourcing opportunities, products, and international vendors aligned with company goals.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Compliance
  • Partner with Logistics, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth flow of goods and alignment across functions.
  • Monitor supplier invoicing accuracy and support timely financial reconciliation.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and international trade regulations.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement operations, or supply chain roles.

Compensation

$70,000 - 80,000 per year

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
