Job summary

Freeman Boatworks is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to maintain smooth production flow and optimize material strategies for offshore boat builds. You’ll collaborate across teams to secure materials, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely, compliant purchasing.

The role calls for 3–5 years in purchasing or supply chain, strong negotiation and data analysis skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and cost focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3–5 years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and negotiate contracts.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage procurement of materials, supplies, and services to keep builds on schedule.
• Lead purchasing initiatives focused on cost savings and supplier partnerships.
• Ensure all purchasing activities meet company standards and compliance requirements.
• Interpret purchasing specifications and collaborate with internal teams to understand needs.

• Issue, track, and adjust purchase orders to match production requirements.

• Identify opportunities to streamline processes around kitting, sequencing, and material flow.

What You’ll Do

• Support and manage the procurement of materials, supplies, and services that keep our builds on schedule

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and negotiate contracts
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt quickly
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach to work
