Job summary

A leading boat manufacturing company in Moncks Corner is seeking a skilled team member to assemble premium offshore fishing boats. The ideal applicant will work with hand and power tools, perform quality checks, and solve problems independently. A commitment to detail and ability to lift heavy weights are essential. Job description

Overview

Description

We’re seeking the right team member who can assemble our premium offshore fishing boats. This team member will focus on wet/lay glass, grind, cut holes, install fittings (ball valves) and run hoses.

Qualifications
  • Experienced with and able to use hand tools varying from a tape measure, razor knives, screw gun, drill and a ratchet
  • Must be able to regularly Lift/Push/Pull battery weights of 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be able to work independently while staying on task
  • Must be able to solve problems with little assistance
  • Must have an attention to detail and the ability to identify defects
  • Use a variety of air, pneumatic and electric power tools to assemble customized electrical power and control systems.
  • Set-up, adjust, and/or changeover equipment with appropriate tools common to the particular job
  • Take appropriate action when out of tolerance situations occur and notify appropriate individuals when further action must be taken
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues on boats as well as rework as required.
  • Actively participate in 5S Programming
  • Work with engineering and quality to define and implement quality requirements
  • Utilize the Engineering Liaison as necessary to address design, drawings, etc.
  • Commitment beyond standard work schedule
  • Works with Rig Lead to ensure that quality criteria is followed and quality checks are completed appropriately using standardized work, job instruction (JI), and quality criteria.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Move to the work. Cannot be tied to a single functional job (rigging) need to be versatile and move when there is a lack of rig boats.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Requirements
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employees must be able to work a 10-hour shift or more in one workday including planned and unplanned overtime
  • Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions
