The Purchasing Manager role at BEST Human Capital & Advisory Group in Texarkana, AR, offers a leadership position within a growing wholesale distributor. You will oversee the corporate purchasing department, optimize inventory, and drive cost-effective procurement aligned with company goals.

Responsibilities include managing staff, evaluating supplier performance, negotiating with vendors, and implementing purchasing policies.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or technical school is required.
• Seven to ten years of related purchasing leadership experience required; multi-location experience is a plus.
• NAPM (APICS CPIM/CIRM) or similar certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Hires and manages corporate purchasing staff, including inventory and direct-to-customer purchases.
• Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Collaborates with other departments to identify product needs and substitutions.
• Assesses inventory availability and predicts future supply based on market conditions.
• Manages inventory levels to leadership directives and collaborates with Business Directors.
• Establishes measurable procurement performance metrics and reports progress.
• Trains and assists in processing purchase orders and requisitions.
• Drafts and implements purchasing policies and procedures.
• Reviews purchasing processes and identifies improvements.
• Participates in training sales personnel on department processes.
• Assists in vendor negotiations and resolves grievances.
• Maintains purchasing records and systems.
