Job summary

St. Joseph’s Center is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing and procurement across all programs and locations in Scranton, PA.

You’ll establish structured processes, negotiate with vendors, and ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment for the residents and teams you serve. You will manage budgets, maintain vendor relationships, and drive cost savings while ensuring compliance with internal controls and funding requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years in purchasing, procurement or materials management.
• Valid PA Driver's License.
• Experience with accounting, purchasing and/or inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Manage requisitions, purchase orders, and order tracking across all Center departments and locations.
• Request, evaluate and document bids and quotes; recommend contract awards.
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing agreements; maintain vendor list; monitor vendor performance.
• Develop and maintain purchasing procedures for internal controls and audit readiness.
• Oversee central supply inventory and supervise the Inventory Coordinator/Purchasing Clerk.
• Analyze spending trends to identify savings and budget support.
