Role Description

The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Thomasville, GA, responsible for overseeing procurement activities to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials, ingredients, packaging, and services. This role manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts and pricing, and monitors supplier performance to meet quality, safety, and delivery standards. The Purchasing Manager analyzes market trends and inventory requirements, collaborates with production, quality, finance, and logistics teams, and maintains accurate purchasing and inventory records. Daily activities include issuing purchase orders, resolving supplier issues, optimizing purchasing processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in purchasing, sourcing, and vendor management, including contract negotiation and cost analysis.
• Ability to manage inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with production and logistics to support uninterrupted operations.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation, and reporting skills, with proficiency in ERP systems and standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of manufacturing or food processing environments, including quality, safety, and regulatory considerations; experience in meat or food industry is a plus.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead supplier discussions.
