Job summary

Hooper, an established electric power and mechanical contractor based in Wisconsin, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support its HVAC department in Port Washington. You will procure materials, tools, and equipment for jobsites and coordinate rental gear with project teams.

The role requires strong organizational skills, basic math, and the ability to work with suppliers and foremen to ensure on‑time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math basics.
• Organizational and communication skills required.
• Basic computer skills and inventory handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials, tools, and supplies for jobsites.
• Procure rental tools and equipment for jobsites.
• Research new materials and equipment.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and evaluate them.
• Review quality of purchased products.
• Track material and back-orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Foreman on special item requests.
• Schedule material and tool deliveries with Trucking Supervisor.
• Backup to other Central Receiving roles as needed.
• Maintain communication with Fab Shop and Jobsite Foremen.
• Match invoice packing slips.
• Process deliveries.
• Participate in other duties/projects as assigned.

General Summary

Responsible for supporting the procurement and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment for the HVAC Department in Port Washington.

Principal Accountabilities

• Procurement of material, equipment, tools, and supplies for Jobsites.
• Procurement of rental tools and equipment for Jobsites.
• Research new material, tools, and equipment.
• Procure, compare, and evaluate quotes from suppliers.
• Review quality of purchased products.
• Track material and review back-order reports to ensure materials are delivered on time.
• Work with Project Managers and Foreman to obtain special item requests.
• Work with Trucking Supervisor to schedule material and tool deliveries.
• Serves as backup to other Central Receiving positions as required with miscellaneous duties when directed.
• Maintains good communication and relationships with Fab Shop and Jobsite Foreman.
• Matches invoice packing slips.
• Delivery Processing.
• Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic math skills with a high school diploma or GED
• Good Organizational skills.
• Good verbal communication skills required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Comfortable working in a team environment and responsible for handling inventory and equipment.

Description Of Physical Working Environment

• The ability to climb up and down ladders and steps is required with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Requires continuous standing, walking, and lifting. Requires lifting materials up to 75 pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation, and frequent twisting, bending, and turning.
