Job summary

Walpole Outdoors LLC is seeking a senior inventory professional to establish and maintain accurate inventory across all balance sheet categories using ERP software. You will manage vendor accountability to reduce quality cases while ensuring 98%+ inventory service for production needs.

You will negotiate favorable sourcing terms, reduce excess inventory, and optimize Min-Max/MRP practices. The role requires cross-functional teamwork with plant, field and sales, supporting a potential 3x activity

Qualifications

• At least 10 years' experience with ERP, MRP and/or WMS packages.
• At least 5 years' experience in an inventory management/purchasing role.
• Experience managing a minimum of $3M average monthly inventory value.
• Experience in a $15M+ revenue company.
• Experience managing a minimum of 2,000 SKUs.
• Strong Excel and O365 skills.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and communicate effectively.
• Live within commute distance of Pittsfield, ME.
• Experience with multiple ERP systems is preferred.
• Salesforce CRM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain inventory accuracy across balance sheet categories using ERP.
• Hold vendors accountable to reduce quality cases to under 5%.
• Ensure 98%+ inventory service to production requirements.
• Reduce vendor lead times to 3 weeks or less for critical items.
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce excess inventory (<24 months consumption).
• Negotiate favorable sourcing, pricing, and payment terms with direct material vendors.
• Serve as the link between plant, field and sales on inventory processes.
• Build scalable internal processes to support 3x current activity.
• Maintain best Min-Max/MRP practices to meet the mission.
• Ensure timely adherence to inventory movement processes by vendors and stakeholders.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and advise on sourcing opportunities.

Description

Mission of Role Establish and maintain inventory accuracy across all Balance Sheet inventory categories utilizing provided ERP software. Manage and hold vendor accountability resulting in a vendor attributable Quality Case reduction from 13.1% to <5%.Ensure 98%+ inventory service in support of production demands while maintaining a simple turn on inventory investment. Reduce overall vendor lead times to no greater than 3 weeks on all critical production and stock position products. Develop an approved and execute to reduce Excess inventory levels to less than 24-month consumption Objectives Negotiate and maintain favorable sourcing, pricing and payment terms with all direct material vendors that meet the company’s directed cash and service level objectives. Effectively serve as an integral common denominator between plant, field and sales operations on all processes involving inventory. Own and develop robust and scalable internal processes for inventory management that can support 3x current activity. Establish and maintain best Min-Max/MRP practices to meet the mission. Hold vendors and stakeholders alike accountable for not following inventory movement processes in a timely manner. Participate in cross-functional team environment and openly advise company on leverage sourcing opportunities the benefit of the company.

• Ability to work with a group of diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.
• At least 10 years' experience with ERP, MRP and/or WMS packages
• At least 5 years' experience in an inventory management/purchasing role with a manufacturing or inventory intensive processing environment
• Experience managing a minimum of $3M average monthly inventory value
• Experience operating within a $15M+ revenue company
• Experience managing a minimum of 2,000 SKUs
• Strong O365 suite of product skills with better than average Excel skills
• An analytical thought process and approach to complex tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Live within a reasonable commute distance of Pittsfield, ME location

• Organizational and time management skills and attention to detail is an absolute
