Job summary

Trump International Hotel Las Vegas is seeking a Purchasing Operations Manager to lead Purchasing & Shipping/Receiving, source and negotiate with suppliers, and forecast costs for capital projects. You will supervise staff and ensure compliance with food handling standards and hotel policies.

The role requires strong knowledge of procurement, bidding processes, and database management, with hospitality experience preferred. On-site position at our Las Vegas property.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the overall Purchasing Operations to include Shipping/Receiving. Performs strategic sourcing for Food and Beverage, Rooms Division, FF&E, and OS&E. Provide forecasting of future Capital projects. Oversee all Shipping & Receiving operations to include guest and convention shipments. Establish contracts and third party agreements to meet the overall objectives of the company.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Supervise and manage day to day operations for the Purchasing & Shipping/Receiving departments.
• Responsible for handling and overseeing the procurement of goods and services through appropriate bidding processes to achieve optimum price value while maintaining superior quality consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Research and/or facilitates research on product lines.
• Provides department heads with recommendations and guidance regarding new ideas and new products that will achieve better cost control.
• Maintain purchasing databases, developing programs to increase savings and quality.
• Assist in menu/product sourcing and selection costing process to maintain productivity levels within budgeted targets.
• Negotiating vendor relationships and setting up new accounts.
• Responsible for maintaining food handling records as required by the SNHD.
• Performs other purchasing tasks and projects as required by management.
• Communicate with Outlet Managers/Department relative to purchases consistent with hotel needs and specifications.
• Negotiate pricing and purchase goods and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
• Interview, select, train and supervise staff, including cost control and discipline, to ensure the smooth operation of the general storeroom.
• Review shipments to ensure products received are consistent orders.
• Responsible for monitoring grades and quality of products to ensure that they meet the hotel’s standards.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Must have full knowledge of purchasing procedures and printing products.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills to order items and track deliveries.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors.
• Ability to apply basic supervisory skills to plan, organize and direct team members as necessary.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to use electronic ordering systems.
• Ability to operate office machines including calculator/10-key, copier, fax, telephone.

OTHER:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying

schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump

International Hotel Las Vegas from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this

position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result

there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each

associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

OTHER DUTIES:

Assimilate into Trump International Hotel Las Vegas standards through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility

to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least two year college level education preferred.

Experience:

Minimum two years of experience in related field preferred. Hospitality experience preferred.

Must have experience directly supervising employees.

Other:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be able to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

Ability to speak multiple languages is desirable.

Grooming:

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).
