Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Purchasing Manager in Escalon, CA to lead vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and align purchases with production schedules. You will monitor pricing trends, manage purchase orders, and drive cost reduction initiatives across a steel fabrication team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in purchasing within engineering or manufacturing, strong negotiation and communication skills, and experience with procurement software to ensure on-time delivery and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in engineering or manufacturing.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing vendor relationships, negotiating deals, tracking pricing trends, and coordinating purchase schedules in line with production schedules. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our projects by effectively communicating with project managers and foremen. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, and contributing to cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the company's vendor relationships, ensuring that all suppliers meet our stringent quality and delivery standards.
2. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
3. Track and forecast pricing trends and their impact on future activities.
4. Coordinate purchase schedules to align with production schedules, ensuring that materials are available when needed.
5. Communicate effectively with project managers and foremen to understand their needs and ensure they are met.

Qualifications:

4. Strong knowledge of production planning and cost reduction strategies.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track pricing trends and forecast future needs.
7. Proficient in using purchasing and inventory management software.
8. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
10. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
