Job summary

Precision Concepts International LLC is seeking a seasoned purchasing and supply chain leader to manage sourcing, vendor qualification, inventory availability, and service levels for a plastics injection molding operation.

The role requires strong vendor management, cost control, and contingency planning to ensure reliable supply of resins, packaging, and tooling. A bachelor's degree and 5+ years in manufacturing procurement are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing and supply chain activities for production and non-production goods and services required to support plastics injection molding operations.
  • Develop, qualify, and maintain a reliable supply base for resins, additives, colorants, packaging components, MRO supplies, spare parts, tooling support, outside services, and plant operating needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, pricing, contracts, blanket orders, service agreements, lead times, delivery performance, and supplier issue resolution in a fair, ethical, and professional manner.
  • Establish redundancy plans for critical materials, suppliers, and services, including approved alternate suppliers, contingency sourcing strategies, and risk mitigation plans for capacity, quality, logistics, pricing, and availability disruptions.
  • Partner with production, scheduling, engineering, quality, maintenance, finance, and customer service to ensure materials and services are available to meet production schedules, customer requirements, new product launches, engineering changes, and plant priorities.
  • Monitor demand, supplier lead times, inventory levels, safety stock, minimum order quantities, and replenishment requirements to prevent shortages, excess inventory, downtime, and expedited freight.
  • Drive cost reduction, cost avoidance, and total cost of ownership initiatives while maintaining required standards for quality, service, delivery, compliance, and operational continuity.
  • Evaluate supplier performance using relevant metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, cost competitiveness, technical support, and corrective action follow-through.
  • Support standard cost development, budgeting, forecasting, market trend review, and material cost analysis in partnership with finance and operations leadership.
  • Ensure purchasing practices comply with company policies, approval requirements, supplier qualification standards, and applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Resolve purchase order, invoice, delivery, specification, quality, and receiving discrepancies in coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate leadership, sound judgment, urgency, and effective communication while maintaining strong relationships with plant, corporate, divisional, and supplier partners.

Responsible for leading the full spectrum of purchasing, vendor management, and supply chain activities required to support plant operations in a plastics injection manufacturing facility. Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience.
  • Five or more years of purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience managing vendors, negotiating pricing, and supporting production operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in plastics injection molding, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of resin markets, colorants, packaging components, MRO supplies, tooling support, supplier qualification, inventory control, and production planning practices.
  • Experience developing alternate sources of supply and supply chain risk mitigation plans.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, CPM, or APP.

The entry point salary for this role is $80,000 annually. We reserve the right to offer compensation above the stated salary reflective of years of technical experience, skillset, relevant industry experience, complexity, etc. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and additional ancillary benefits available upon request.
