Job summary

Controlled Environments Company (CEC), based in Chandler, AZ, seeks a Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to manage daily procurement and oversee domestic and international shipments. You will coordinate suppliers, freight forwarders and customs processes while ensuring on-time delivery and inventory control.

The role requires 2+ years in purchasing or logistics, knowledge of import/export regulations and experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a Purchasing, Supply Chain and/or Logistics role, with strong hands-on logistics experience.
• Proven experience managing domestic and international shipments.
• Strong practical knowledge of US import and export regulations, customs requirements and international shipping compliance.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers.
• Good understanding of international shipping processes and Incoterms.
• Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication, relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP or other ERP experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process, manage and expedite purchase orders, ensuring orders are confirmed and delivered within required timeframes.
• Proactively follow up on open and overdue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery commitments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers.
• Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments, from supplier collection through to final delivery.
• Manage import and export processes and customs requirements, including customs clearance, duties, tariffs and required shipping documentation.
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delivery delays, customs issues and other logistics challenges.
• Coordinate inter-company transfers and ensure associated purchasing, transportation and documentation requirements are managed effectively.
• Support inventory management, including monitoring and reducing excess inventory and coordinating returns and damaged goods.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and logistics processes, service levels and freight efficiency.
• Participate in purchasing, supply chain and logistics projects and initiatives as required.

Job Summary:

The Purchasing & Logistics Specialist will support the day-to-day purchasing activities while taking ownership of domestic and international logistics.
