Job summary

Magna Steyr in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Lead, Purchasing to join our global team. You will lead buyers and purchasing staff, drive supplier qualification, negotiate terms, and support production launches with ERP/MRP systems.

In this role, you’ll develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and implement cost-reduction initiatives while aligning with quality, delivery, and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
Experience negotiating supplier agreements, contracts, and commercial terms.
Experience supporting manufacturing operations and automotive supply chains.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Buyers and Purchasing personnel.
Develop sourcing strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
Lead supplier selection, RFQ, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost and responsiveness.
Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement.
Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity initiatives.
Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to production and manage escalations.
