Cedar Valley Plumbing Supply (CVPS) is a growing plumbing wholesaler with 4 Southern California locations and a new opening this year. We seek a Purchasing Specialist who can build a purchasing department from scratch and drive procurement efficiency while aligning with our core values and mission of prioritizing people.

The role emphasizes supplier relationships, cost optimization, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Agent, or Officer with familiarity in sourcing and vendor management.
Business acumen, negotiation, and networking skills.
Experience with vendor management software (DDI INFORM preferred) and procurement software/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
Sound judgment, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
Ability to work independently.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field; certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Implementation of Purchasing Strategies: develop and execute cost-optimizing strategies and refresh old inventory/pricing.
Inventory Management: forecast and manage stock, timing, and carrying costs.
Contract Management: administer, review, negotiate contracts to meet profit goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with internal teams and vendors on requirements and product insights.
Process Improvement: enhance purchasing methods and implement efficiency measures.
