Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking a Purchasing Inventory Specialist for the Plainwell Plant. You will assist the Purchasing Supervisor by managing inventory, cycle counts, and related data, ensuring accurate records and timely material flow.

The role requires attention to detail, independent work, and strong Excel proficiency. Spanish language ability and mechanical parts familiarity are beneficial but not mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Material Master on master data affecting inventory.
• Lead inventory projects and assist in reducing overstock and optimizing BOMs.
• Perform 5S and improve inventory processes.
• Receive, issue, and document parts and materials.

Position Title: Purchasing Inventory Specialist

Department: Purchasing Department

Location: Plainwell Plant

Purchasing Assistant/Inventory Specialist: AM 8 HOURS —Serves under Purchasing Supervisor

The primary responsibilities of the purchasing assistant/inventory specialist are to manage inventory and work on inventory projects.

Expected duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage yearly cycle counts and parts not counted
• Work with Material Master regarding master data that affects inventory
• Inventory projects
• 5S
• Reduction of inventory/overstock
• Critical BOM

Individual must be attentive to detail and record keeping to perform the following:

• Retrieving, issuing, and documentingpartsand materials as they are received and dispersed.
• Receiving and taking delivery ofpartsand materials.
• Assist in training purchasing assistants
• Parts investigation
• Working with the vendor to determine lead times or to find an alternate material
• Filing paperwork and documents by combination of company name and numerical sequence.

Individuals must have strong work ethic, be dependable, able to work independently (often without direct supervision) and possess a strong cooperative attitude.

Other experience or background that is not required but is helpful and preferred is:

• Ability to speak and/or write Spanish
• Strong Computer Skills – with emphasis in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with mechanicalpartsand materials
