Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician experience; 340B knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

Purchasing/ Inventory Agent - Full-time

Location: Crookston Hospital - on-site

Position Status: Full time (80 hours per pay period; 1 FTE) Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Schedule: Monday thru Friday (8:00 - 4:30)

Pay Range: ($22.21 - $28.73) - (DOE - based on experience); full-time benefits.

The Purchasing/Inventory Agent supports RiverView's supply chain operations through effective procurement, contracting, inventory management, supplier relationship management, and value analysis activities. This position ensures the right products are available at the right time and cost to support patient care and organizational objectives. The role is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing supplier performance, negotiating contracts, identifying cost-saving opportunities, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.

The purpose of the Purchasing/Inventory Agent is to support the supply planning, execution, and oversight of the supply chain by providing analytics in support of maintaining products/services, documenting high level of customer satisfaction, and assisting in expanding current product lines and Value Analysis solutions. The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out some of the following job duties:

  • Performs a variety of activities pertaining to the management and development of procurement/contracting policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Determines material requirements from various patient care department and surgery provider schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels. Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of material to support patient care. Responsible for managing individual supplier capabilities to reduce costs, improve quality and delivery performance and ensure a high level of service per Intuitive Surgical requirements. Works with an assigned commodity team to make recommendations for supplier specific strategies, development and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the development and management of all services agreements excluding Information Services and Professional Services agreements and contracts.
  • Coordinates services contracting activities with System buyers and contracts administrators.
  • Analyzes and determines client’s needs and develops and reviews RFP’s, quotes, and bids.
  • Keeps abreast with economic trends and forecasts to discern independent contract opportunities.
  • Maintains relationships with vendor personnel serving the System. Serves as an agent of the System for negotiations and for contracting purposes.
  • Develops and maintains continuous quality and performance improvement standards on a system and employee level.
  • Collects data and maintains data collection processes to support process improvement.
  • Uses the Supply Chain Information System (MMIS) to document contracts. Ensures that appropriate items in the Item Master are tied to contracts, bids and quotes.
  • Educates and provides in-service training to staff on issues (i.e., procedures, customer service contracts, system/process updates, etc.) related to purchasing contracts, performance improvement and System initiatives.
  • Conducts regular meetings with System buyers to coordinate contracting activities and to disseminate information.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • High School graduate or equivalent is required.

Preferred(s):

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain, materials management, or purchasing experience.
  • Experience using MMIS, EPIC, Lawson, or similar healthcare supply chain systems.
  • Professional certification:
    • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • 340B knowledge or experience
