Overview

Position Purpose: The Purchasing Coordinator must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

Responsible for processing purchase orders, reviewing invoices and resolving PO discrepancies in a timely manner. Research and verification of invoices and assisting other purchasing members with daily projects. This individual must have high attention to detail and intellectual curiosity. They must be able to adapt in a fast-changing environment and maneuver with accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Qualify all necessary cost have been accounted for (non-standard options, lot specific costs, etc.) before processing starts.
  • Review and confirm purchase orders are being generated correctly.
  • Process new purchase orders for starts.
  • Process change orders.
  • Process extra purchase order (EPO) requests within 24 hours.
  • Investigate and answer emails regarding issues with purchase orders, EPOs, and invoices.
  • Understand community specifics (vendors, specifications, costs, etc.) to identify inaccuracies.
  • Revise POs/EPOs due to vendor changes or price increases.
  • Assist in invoice discrepancy research.
  • Update model sales prices.
  • Adjust allocation codes upon request.
  • Process spec changes.
  • General administrative tasks as needed.

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:

This position involves the level of duties as described above, or similar, but is not a position of supervisory or management level.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Prefer one or more year’s purchasing experience.
  • Prefer one or more year’s homebuilding experience.

Competencies:

  • Require attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Intermediate skill in MSOffice Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand invoices.
  • Ability to read or learn how to read plans.
  • Ability to quickly learn purchasing specific software.
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors, construction, and sales.
