Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Buyer for a Jacksonville, FL location to support manufacturing operations by purchasing materials, components, and supplies for production. The role relies on Excel and ERP systems (including D365) to manage purchase orders, track pricing, and monitor lead times while coordinating with vendors for on-time delivery.

The successful candidate will work with internal teams to align purchasing with BoMs and production schedules and apply best practices for taxable vs.

Qualifications

• Experience purchasing, procuring, and buying in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical skills with ERP systems.
• Excellent MS Office and Excel proficiency; able to manage pricing, lead times, and vendor communications.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, components, and supplies for production to support manufacturing operations.
• Manage purchase orders and track pricing and lead times in ERP systems (including D365).
• Communicate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and favorable terms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing with Bills of Materials (BoMs) and production schedules.
• Apply best practices around taxable versus non-taxable purchasing and maintain accuracy in records.

The buyer will spend each day supporting manufacturing operations by purchasing and procuring materials, components, and supplies needed for production. They will work heavily in Excel and ERP systems (including D365) to manage purchase orders, track pricing, and monitor lead times while maintaining regular communication with vendors to ensure on-time delivery. The Buyer collaborates closely with internal teams to align purchasing with Bills of Materials (BoMs) and production schedules, while also applying best practices around taxable versus non-taxable purchasing. Success in the role requires strong attention to detail, comfort navigating ERP systems, and proactive vendor follow-up.
