Job summary

Geringhoff is seeking a Purchasing Buyer to drive supplier selection, contract negotiations, and cost-effective sourcing for our Minnesota site. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of agricultural equipment components.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years of purchasing experience in an industrial environment, with strong negotiation and analytical skills. On-site position in St.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Researching and identifying prospective suppliers
• Collaborating with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations
• Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria
• Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost effective acquisition of goods while maintaining quality standards
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders and supplier agreements
• Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns
• Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings
• Analyzing industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records
• Following up with vendors on pricing questions when necessary
• Maintaining master data on vendors and materials including delivery times, terms order quantities and all other pertinent information
• Interacting closely with the planning department and production department

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience in an industrial environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
• Excellent communication with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and ERP system experience (preferably SAP)
• Team player with strong organizational skills
