Akkodis is seeking a Buyer - Purchasing Agent for a 7-month contract job with a client in Buffalo Grove, IL. We’re seeking an experienced buyer responsible for organizational purchases, vendor evaluation, and purchase order authorization. Familiarity with industry concepts, practices, and procedures is essential. The role relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $45/hour; negotiable based on experience, education, location, and other factors.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 4+ years of experience.

• Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conferring with vendors for product or service details such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Selecting products for purchase, testing, observing, or examining items, and choosing suppliers based on quality, capacity, and financial analysis.
• Estimating market prices based on knowledge.
• Determining procurement methods like direct purchase or bidding.
• Preparing purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviewing bids and negotiating contracts within scope and budget.
• Maintaining procurement records including costs, delivery, quality, and inventories.
• Discussing defective goods or services with relevant personnel to identify issues and take corrective actions.
• Approving invoices for payment.
• Expediting delivery of goods to users.
