Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in administration, customer service, inventory, or purchasing preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
• Experience with ERP systems (AS400 is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a purchasing role.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process purchase requisitions in the AS400 system.
• Use Microsoft Excel and Word to track orders and maintain records.
• Assist with sourcing materials and comparing pricing.
• Help negotiate pricing to get the best value.
• Review purchase needs and make recommendations.
• Create and issue purchase orders with manager approval.
• Place online orders as needed.
• Track and follow up on overdue deliveries.
• Expedite orders when needed to meet deadlines.
• Resolve discrepancies between purchasing and accounting records.
• Maintain organized files for purchase orders and related documents.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the Purchasing Supervisor or Manager.
