Job summary

Suburban Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing team.

You will maintain purchasing records, monitor orders, and coordinate inventory transactions to ensure timely procurement and accurate inventory management. You will also communicate with suppliers, accounts payable, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and keep data accurate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of purchasing experience and/or training.
• Familiarity with ERP and/or inventory software.
• Experience in the use of a PC and Microsoft Word and Excel software, as well as the Internet.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate order, purchasing, and inventory data in company systems.
• Process order acknowledgements and review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Process inventory requests related to field and machine moves.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Track supplier shipments and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate material returns and ensure timely pickup and credit processing.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with supplier performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all quoting projects.
• Support Purchasing team as needed to ensure efficient operations.

The Role – Purchasing Assistant

What You Bring (Required Experience)
