Job summary

Western Leather Goods Inc. in Mercedes, TX is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support the Materials and Leather Department by maintaining inventory records of raw goods and distributing materials to craftsmen on the production floor.

This on-site role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions; no prior experience is required as training is provided. Work hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use hand tools with manual dexterity and care.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Use prod smart or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or materials needed.
• Manually move raw goods and other materials to and from the warehouse or production areas.
• Examine shipment content and compare it with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Deliver materials to departments using dollies/hand trucks.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse by dusting, sweeping, and disposing of any trash or broken pallets.
• Assist the leather department as needed by folding, rolling, stacking or counting leather skins on racks.

We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our Materials and Leather Department by maintaining inventory records of raw goods related to boot making and distributing materials to the craftsmen on production floor.This role is essential to maintaining our standards of craftsmanship and ensuring consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use prod smart or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or materials needed.
• Manually move raw goods and other materials to and from the warehouse or production areas.

Required Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry materials weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Use of hands and arms to fold, stack, roll, and move leather skins and other materials.
• Ability to safely operate dollies, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
• Comfortable working in warehouse and production environments that may vary in temperature.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for detailed tasks and material handling.
• This is an on-site position at our facility.
• Work may involve exposure to leather materials, adhesives, and mechanical equipment.
• Noise level and temperature may vary depending on department.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday weekends as needed. 40 hours a week plus overtime as needed.
• Shift hours may vary between 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM depending on department assignment.
