Job Description: Purchasing Agent / Buyer
Location: Randolph, VT
Division: LEDdynamics
Employment Type: FT - On-site

Position Overview:
LEDdynamics, a leading innovator in advanced LED technologies and a division of Fusion Optix, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent with experience in electronics manufacturing. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and inventory cost management for all electronic components, subassemblies, and production materials used to support our LED driver and lighting system manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and purchase electronic components including LEDs, PCBs, semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, connectors, and custom assemblies.
  • Evaluate new and existing suppliers in regards to price, quality, location and service.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders in accordance with production schedules and ERP recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and lead proactive procurement strategies to avoid shortages or excess stock, with lean manufacturing principles and processes in mind.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand BOM requirements and ensure component accuracy and availability.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in our ERP system.
  • Pursue and track cost-reduction initiatives by identifying alternate suppliers and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Track and report on supplier performance, delivery, and quality issues.
  • Stay informed of market trends, component obsolescence risks, disruptions and economic impacts to our supply chain.
  • Maintain records in accordance with our quality management system.
  • Work closely with our other divisions to develop best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with electronics distributors.
  • Specific knowledge of Salesforce and Rootstock programs.
  • Strong knowledge concerning contract negotiations and supply chain agreements.
  • Experience in international supply chain logistics, US customs and tariff policies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
