SUMMARY
The Purchasing Agent will ensure the timely entry, ordering, filing, and follow through for each purchase order. In addition the position is to provide support to managers on purchasing decisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine the vendor with research regarding quality, quantity and price.
- Obtain quotes when requested by Directors.
- Place orders to maintain warehouse inventory levels and to reflect changes in the needs of Eagle Mountain Casino.
- Maintain close working relationship with department managers to resolve any issues with quantities, pricing, quality, brand availability.
- Place all orders in a timely manner, and ensure all orders are prioritized accordingly.
- All orders will be entered in the Sage 100 (MAS90) system.
- All backorders will be researched and completed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable when questions arise concerning price discrepancies, back orders or any other issues when closing outstanding purchase orders.
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Provide to Accounts Payable the proper backup in accordance with GAAP in a timely manner.
- Office supply management.
- Conducts monthly inventories
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion as pertains to all financial data.
- Facilitate the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent attendance record.
- Must attend and be certified in all applicable trainings required.
- All other Duties as assigned by immediate manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience with computerized purchase and/or accounting systems data entry.
- Must be proficient in 10-key.
- Professional telephone etiquette.
- Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Excel.
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a gaming license with the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, and sit.
- Repeatedly required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
- The noise level is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
