Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC, a leading adhesive tape manufacturer, seeks a procurement professional to lead purchasing activities for materials, products, and services. You will impact organizational success by coordinating vendor relations, purchase orders, and supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities include sourcing suppliers domestically and internationally, managing lead times and inventory levels, and driving cost reductions while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience with materials planning and procurement within manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office applications.

  • Source new and alternate vendors for materials, equipment, and supplies - domestically and internationally.
  • Approve requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Manage the purchasing supply chain; update dates based on vendor lead times and min/max levels.
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Resolve vendor claims timely to maximize credits.
  • Provide pricing suggestions for new product development.
  • Develop cost reduction strategies while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Proactively control excess inventory levels with vendors and internal teams.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In this role, you will plan and participate in activities related to the purchasing of materials, products, and services, while having a direct impact on the level of success we achieve as an organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Source new and alternate vendors for materials, equipment, and supplies - domestically and internationally.
  • Approve requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Manage the purchasing supply chain. Review and update purchase order promise dates based on changes in vendor lead times and minimum order quantities. Effectively communicate significant changes to Sales, Production and Finance. Recommend min/max levels for key raw materials.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and compound management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Timely resolution of vendor claims to maximize credits.
  • Provide pricing suggestions for new product development.
  • Develop cost reduction strategies while maintaining positive vendor relationships.
  • Proactively control excess inventory levels, working with vendors and internal departments.
QUALIFICATIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • A high level of negotiation and written and personal communication skills.
  • A solid understanding and at least three years' experience in MRP processes in a mid-size manufacturing company.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system and Microsoft Office.
  • A high level of interpersonal relationship skills, as this position will work closely with vendors, and internally with manufacturing, sales, customer service, and finance departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, light to moderate physical effort is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion. Work performed in an office environment.
